Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a meeting of the core committee of the BJP in Assam on Thursday evening to strategize and review preparations for the upcoming assembly elections in 2026.
Shah arrived in Guwahati for a two-day visit, but heavy rainfall delayed his arrival at the party headquarters located in the Bhashistha area.
In a post on 'X', he mentioned that he presided over the core committee meeting at the Assam BJP headquarters in Guwahati.
He emphasized that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the government led by Himanta Biswa Sarma is fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Assam. Shah urged every BJP worker to dedicate themselves to building a prosperous Assam.
BJP state president Dilip Saikia noted that Shah inspired and motivated them for the upcoming elections.
